The post office and convenience store in Pannal has been listed for sale at £595,000.
Crimple Valley Fresh, on Station Road, is a focal point in the village. It provides everyday postal, parcel, banking and travel-money services, alongside convenience shopping.
Christie & Co, which is marketing the property, describes it as “excellent opportunity to acquire a long-established village convenience store and post office together with substantial owner's accommodation”.
It does not reveal why the site is being put up for sale.
The listing says the retail operation “currently trades at a relatively modest level” and “offers scope for a new owner to increase turnover through range expansion, local sourcing initiatives, food-to-go offerings, delivery services, stronger community engagement and greater utilisation of the post office customer base”.
It says shop sales are about £3,000 per week, “complemented by post office commissions of around £42,000 per annum, creating a useful income stream while supporting the property's overall affordability”.
The living accommodation in the two-storey building is described as “spacious and flexible”, suitable for a family home, a semi-retirement opportunity, or for buyers seeking to combine home and work in one location.
“Properties offering this combination of freehold ownership, established income, large gardens and a prime Harrogate village address rarely come to market,” the listing adds.
