Dear Reader. We have made this article free to read. The Stray Ferret visited the club this week and has written a more in-depth piece about the venue's recent changes, which is available to subscribers-only by clicking on the link at the end of the article. We publish about 100 articles a week all exclusively focused on local news. Pateley Bridge is to host its first beer festival next weekend.

The Pateley Club Beer Festival will take place from August 21 to 23 and feature 12 draught craft beers and ciders that celebrate some of the best breweries and cider makers from Yorkshire and beyond.

The £10 entry fee includes a free pint, a barbecue sausage made by neighbouring Kendalls Butchers, and a commemorative The Pateley Club beer glass to keep.

Club secretary Russell Goodwin said the event “marks another step in the club's exciting progression as a local community space,” adding:

We hope the festival will become an annual event for Pateley Bridge and provide another reason for both locals and visitors to support one of the town's longest-standing social clubs.

The committee and volunteers have been working hard to promote the Pateley Club as a welcoming community hub.
