This fantastic aerial photo of Gouthwaite Reservoir in Nidderdale was taken by reader Douglas Young.
The Elizabethan manor house of Gouthwaite White Hall was submerged beneath its waters when it was built between 1893 and 1901 as a compensation reservoir to regulate the flow of the River Nidd during periods of high and low rainfall.
Now a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), it is operated by Yorkshire Water with advice from the Environment Agency.
