This seasonal image from reader Bill Shaw shows the avenue of maple trees leading to the Cross of Sacrifice at Stonefall Cemetery in Harrogate.
Many of the graves in the picture are those of Canadian airmen who lost their lives in the Second World War.
These trees – their flaming red autumn leaves reminiscent of the Canadian flag – were a post-war gift from the Ontario Horticultural Association, a living tribute to Canada's war dead.
