Police were called to deal with a naked man seen running through the centre of Harrogate in broad daylight yesterday (June 22).
An eyewitness, who took the photo accompanying this article, saw the man opposite the Cairn Hotel on Ripon Road at 9.50am.
Vehicles taking part in a veteran car rally were passing along Ripon Road at the time.
The eyewitness said the man, who was ranting and appeared agitated, continued running on to Duchy Road.
She called the police, who arrived several minutes later. She added:
As I crossed Springfield Avenue I saw two Premier Inn employees, with badges on, running with towels. I asked if they were searching for a naked man.
They said ‘yes’, and I directed them to Duchy Road, where I had seen him run to.
The Stray Ferret has approached North Yorkshire Police for further information.
