Police appeal for wanted man in Harrogate and Ripon

North Yorkshire Police have issued an appeal for information about the whereabouts of a wanted man.

Shane Betts, aged 29, is of no fixed address but has connections to Ripon and Harrogate, is wanted on suspicion of theft, assault, criminal damage and burglary.

A police spokesperson said:

We believe Betts is likely to be in the Ripon, Harrogate area or Leeds city centre.

It's believed Betts could be sleeping rough, so we are appealing to residents in the Harrogate area, particularly in the Harlow Hill area, to keep an eye on their outbuildings, and report anything suspicious.

Anyone with any information about Betts' current whereabouts is urged to call North Yorkshire Police on 101. If the sighting is immediate, call 999.

Alternatively, information can be passed on anonymously through independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111 or via their website.

Reference number 12250063851 should be quoted when information is provided.
