A bridge that connects Ripon and Boroughbridge has been shut due to damage.

North Yorkshire Police this afternoon (February 18) said a full closure is in place at Hewick Bridge over the River Ure between Ripon and Bridge Hewick.

It is unclear how long the closure will be in place, police added, but the Stray Ferret will provide updates when they become available.
