A man was arrested following an incident in Harrogate today (July 1).
The Stray Ferret contacted North Yorkshire Police after being alerted to a police presence on Cheltenham Parade at around 1pm.
The force said in a statement it received a report of a “possible theft in progress” at a shop on Cambridge Street at 12.40pm.
Officers went to the scene and spoke to a 36-year-old man but no offence is believed to have taken place.
However, police added the man was wanted on suspicion of an offence in a different force area – an area under a different police force’s jurisdiction – and has been arrested and taken into custody.
No further details have been released.
