Queen Mary's School, which is between Ripon and Thirsk, has announced a new headteacher.
Fe Beadnell will become head of the independent girls school in the next academic year, starting in 2025.
The school has been under Carole Cameron’s headship for the last 10 years. Ms Cameron is retiring next year after 11 years at Queen Mary's.
The day and boarding school for girls aged three to 16 is located just off the A1(M) at Topcliffe.
Ms Beadnell was educated at Malvern Girls’ College, now Malvern St James, in Worcestershire, and at the University of Leeds. Her teaching career started eight years later when she won a place on the Teach First programme.
She joined Barnard Castle School in 2018 where she is currently deputy head and head of the sixth form.

Ms Beadnell said she was "honoured", adding:
My first impressions were of an excellent academic offering and a breadth of opportunities that the girls maximise.
I am humbled and proud to build upon the fantastic tenure of Carole Cameron and to be the next custodian as the 11th head of this wonderful school and its amazing girls.
