The following comments were left under an opinion column written by retired architect and Harrogate resident, Barry Adams, on shaping Harrogate's future.
Very sensible suggestions, quality is the way to go.
Jon Swales
One thing I would like to add to Barry Adams’ comments is fact of the grubby state of the streets, the signage and the general appearance of the town. A good clean-up and a lick of paint wouldn’t cost the earth, but they would certainly enhance the town’s image.
Joy Pelmont
As one of the founder members of Independent Harrogate, I was delighted to read Barry Adams' article in the [Stray] Ferret. We as a group of independent businesses could not agree more, and we hope the BID will focus on delivering quality, not mediocrity, making Harrogate a unique, quality town and a special place to visit.
William Woods
This comment was left under an opinion column by Harrogate Liberal Democrat town councillor and mayor, Cllr Chris Aldred, on why Harrogate Town Council has entered the first UK Town of Culture contest.
Wonderful to celebrate water and wellness – or wellbeing. But are we doing enough to protect our water – the nearly 100 springs beneath our feet? Are we protecting the woods that support our mental and physical wellbeing?
Arabella Cornelius
