I read with some interest your feature on the new Ripon Mayor. Your previous photo had him photographed next to a waste bin when he took office, I believe now he is getting the grass cut in Ripon. Maybe while that is taking place, he would like to get the rather rusty/rotten bin replaced at the side of the Black Bull Tavern and a definite eye saw next to the town centre (Finkle Street).

The following letter was sent in response to the state of road signs in Killinghall and other major roads.
It appears that our thoughtful North Yorkshire Council highways have on all major roads into Harrogate installed many signs and features to prevent speeding vehicles from doing just that, but the same highways department engage thoughtless grass cutting contractors that just destroy everything.
Lots more of A59 and A61 verges must have been similarly mangled.

Christopher Dunn, Killinghall
