The following comments were left under an article about David Skaith, the Labour Mayor of York and North Yorkshire, and Councillor Carl Les, the Conservative leader of North Yorkshire Council, publicly clashing over transport funding — in particular money to fix potholes.
Harrogate estate roads have appalling surfaces and major roads which carry far more traffic are becoming dangerous. It's way past time to remedy the situation.

Maybe it’s time to bin off the Station Gateway scheme to provide replacement funds.

Let us just remember that these are the same two top Tory councillors who successfully advocated for Local Government Review five years ago and the creation of this combined authority which has far too much power as to where government monies are allocated. But of course back then they expected to be running it. Be careful what you wish for.
