Readers left the following comments under an article about calls for a rethink on an Otley Road cycle path extension plan.
Even a councillor is admitting the present one is not been used so it would be a waste of money to continue carrying on with this project.

The plans are not ‘broadly welcomed by cyclists.’ Harrogate District Cycle Action naturally supports the principle but not the plans. Cllr Dixon is right that the drop-in session was a presentation of what’s going to happen, not a consultation.

The present Otley Road scheme is just a hijacked footpath.

How about it being funded entirely by the housing developers thus avoiding yet more wasted illspent taxpayers' money?
