Ripon-based Elstob Auctioneers has launched a property clearance company with an enviromental focus.
Yorclear offers full and partial house clearances, probate and estate work, end-of-tenancy clearances and support for families who may find the process emotionally difficult or practically overwhelming, across Yorkshire and beyond.
It aims to use its specialist knowledge to ensure that items of potential worth are properly identified, valued and sold to a global market.
David Elstob, director of Elstob Auctioneers and co-founder of Yorclear, said:
By having professional valuers assess the contents and determine their worth, clients can be confident that nothing of potential value is missed and that every piece has the opportunity to reach the right market and realise its full worth.
The aim is to keep as much as possible out of landfill by prioritising resale, recycling, re-purposing and charitable donation. Only when no alternative route exists are items disposed of, and all waste-handling is carried out under Yorclear’s full waste-carrier licence.
Jason Hutchinson, Yorclear’s clearance operations manager, said:
A house clearance can generate a surprising amount of waste, but most belongings still have value or can be reused.
Our approach is to treat every item with care and respect, and to find the most appropriate route for it – whether that’s auction, donation or recycling. Clients can hand over the process knowing it’s being managed professionally and with sensitivity.
