Firefighters from Ripon were called to reports of a fire in a bin wagon this afternoon (June 17).
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service’s incident report said a crew was summoned at 2.28pm this afternoon to Dishforth.
The report added:
On arrival the bin lorry had emptied its waste. Crew used a hose reel jet to extinguish and dampen down the pile of waste and pitchforks to turnover.
Just over an hour earlier, at 1.22pm, a crew from Harrogate was called to a two-vehicle road collision. The incident report described the location simply as ‘Ripon’.
It added:
All occupants were out on arrival of crews. Scene safety carried out and environmental pack used to clean up fluids leaking from the vehicle.
