A Ripon man has been charged with possessing thousands of indecent images of children.
Jason Dixon, of Harewood Road, appeared before York Magistrates Court yesterday (June 1) where he was charged with the alleged offences.
According to court documents, Mr Dixon, 37, is alleged to have possessed 6,124 still and 204 moving category A images — which is the most serious kind.
He is also accused of possessing 1,299 still and 48 moving category B images and 1,782 still and 262 moving category C images of children.
The alleged offences took place between March 17, 2013, and August 29, 2023, according to court documents.
York Magistrates Court referred the case to York Crown Court, where Mr Dixon will appear for a plea and trial preparation hearing on June 29, 2026.
