Residents living near a major housing development in Ripon have been told to expect an increase in the volume of lorries over the next six months.
Housebuilder Taylor Wimpey is developing the 390-home Fountains Walk scheme at West Lane.
It has written to people living nearby warning them that more lorries will be using the roads from Monday (August 18) for up to six months.
The lorries will transport soil "off our West Lane development to another site," the letter says.
It adds:
This activity is expected to continue for approximately six months, involving 20-30 trucks daily (Monday to Friday) travelling along the designated construction route on Whitcliffe Lane, Ripon.
Throughout this period, we will increase the frequency of the road sweeping and, should weather conditions require, a wheel washing system will also be installed on site. We will keep the effectiveness of these mitigations under review.
Health and safety remains our priority and all work will be conducted in accordance with our approved construction and environmental management plan.
We would like to apologise in advance for any disturbance that this activity might cause.
We are dedicated to minimising disruption and appreciate your patience and cooperation as we strive to deliver this project efficiently and responsibly.
The first phase of work on the Fountain's Walk scheme at the 23-hectare West Lane site began in December 2024.
It includes homes ranging from two to five-bedroom and priced from £267,995 to £614,995.
