This week, Ripon entered the UK Town of Culture competition, Boroughbridge Post Office was put up for sale, the Harrogate Club – one of the only private members clubs of its kind left in Yorkshire – celebrated 140 years in its Victoria Avenue home.

1. A new road system which will see utility companies charged higher fees to carry out roadworks is set to come into force in North Yorkshire in May.
