This week, we heard that a Harrogate woman is to be court martialled after the New Zealand naval ship she commanded sank in the Pacific Ocean, we found that bosses at the Yorkshire Dales National Park are set to get pay rises of up to 20%, and it was revealed that Yorkshire Water is to lay a new sewage pipe through some of the most beautiful parts of Harrogate.

Harrogate Town Council voted to spend £4,695 on a new silver-coloured chain for the mayor to wear at civic events, due to security concerns arising from the soaring price of gold and the "exceptionally high" value of the current gold chain.
