Firefighters had a busy night in Harrogate tackling separate blazes to a shop and fan.
Both crews from Harrogate and a crew from Knaresborough were called to a fire at commercial premises above flats on Starbeck High Street at 10.06pm.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service’s incident report said:
All persons were accounted for from the residential flats above. A firefighting team wearing breathing apparatus entered the property to extinguish the developed fire inside the first floor of the building.
A positive pressure ventilation fan was then used to clear the building of smoke so that the occupants were able to return to their flats safely which had avoided fire damage. A handover form was completed with the responsible person and after a fire investigation was carried out.
At 6.04am, a crew from Harrogate was called to reports of a van on fire on Princes Villa Road in Harrogate.
The incident report said: “This was a fire to a commercial van. Crews used a hose reel jet and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire.”
