Northern Gas Networks has announced a fresh batch of roadworks on Skipton Road in Harrogate.
The gas distributor for northern England said today it would be carrying out “essential work” for nine days from Monday, July 22 to Wednesday, July 31.
The ageing metal pipework is being upgraded to ensure a safe and reliable supply of gas to customers now while getting the network ready to transport alternative greener fuels in future.
Temporary traffic lights will be in place between Bilton Grange and King Edward’s Drive for the duration of the works.
Mark Mawhood, operations manager for Northern Gas Networks, said:
We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused during these essential works. However, it is vital we complete them in order to continue to maintain a safe and reliable gas supply to the residents of Harrogate.
We want to assure residents and road users that we will be working hard to complete this essential scheme as safely and as quickly as possible.
