The countdown is now on for the Stray Ferret Business Awards 2025, sponsored by Prosperis, and we're taking the opportunity to celebrate the fantastic finalists, shortlisted across each of the 10 categories.

Tickets are now available to buy for the glittering black tie event, which will take place at The Pavilions in Harrogate on Thursday, March 13, 2025.

Let's meet and find out more about the finalists for Best Use of Digital, sponsored by Claro Court Business Centre.

ABK Invest - How Stean Gorge

In 2022, ABK Invest purchased the How Stean Gorge site and directors Tony Liddy and Rebecca Verity immediately got to work to implement their vision.

Over two years later the site has been transformed, resulting in a higher annual turnover. Improvements include renovation work to the café and campsite, installing seven new lodges to provide luxury accommodation alternatives.

A new head of outdoor adventure and education and senior instructor were also appointed to lead the adventure team, and additional activities such as paddle boarding and bush craft have been added to the programme.

Live For Today

Live For Today is an adventure company, with three activity centres, a climbing centre, and many more offsite adventures offered across Yorkshire.

According to its submission, it 'experienced remarkable growth' in 2024, through its 'dedication to innovation, strategic expansion, and community engagement'.

This includes an increased turnover, acquistition and opening of the climbing wall, introducing new actvities and hosting the UK Disc Golf Open, as well as plans to open another centre in the future.

The Bluebell Arms, Grantham Arms, Tap on the Tutt, Fox & Hounds

The purchase of the Grantham Arms in 2018 set the stage for a period of significant business growth for Simon Wade.

He also took over the Fox and Hounds in Langthorpe and the Tap on the Tutt, located in a charming Grade II listed building in Boroughbridge. When many towns and villages have seen hospitality venues sadly close, Simon has breathed life into many residents beloved local pubs.

His latest achievement was the acquisition of the Blue Bell Inn in Arkendale in October 2024, he's gone from employing 10 staff to 70 across his venues.

Don't miss out

Tickets are now available for the awards evening, which takes place on Thursday, March 13, 2025.

Book yours here and join the Stray Ferret and other local businesses for a night filled with recognition, networking, and fun.
