Here are the answers to this week's Sunday Picture Quiz. How well did you do?

1. Colsterdale Sighting Tower
This odd-looking structure stands on moorland above Leighton Reservoir and Roundhill Reservoir – the one that supplies Harrogate's tap water – in Colsterdale, near Masham.
It is one of three towers on the moors that were built to conduct land surveys and as references to help engineers build the pipeline that carries water to Harrogate.

2. The Secret Tunnel mural, Knaresborough
As its name suggests, this mural is perhaps one of the least known in Knaresborough, as you can only get a good view of it if you walk right to the end of platform 2 of the railway station – something few people do.
It was painted in 2006 by local artist Peter Kearney, who also restored it in 2018.

3. Ripley Endowed Church of England School
Ripley's village school owes its existence to the ingilby family of Ripley Castle. The current building dates from 1830, but the first school was built in 1702 by Mary Ingilby and endowed by Katherine Ingilby, both daughters of Sir William Ingilby.

The board on the wall outside the school gives a brief account of its history.
The school currently has more than 30 pupils on its roll and is rated Good by Ofsted.

4. Mayor's lamp, Ripon town hall
Curiously, this is one of two mayor's lamps in Ripon. The other is an ornate lamppost that has traditionally been sited – and electrically 'plumbed in' – outside the private home of whoever is the current mayor.
In recent months, it has been pointed out that the £6,000-plus that it costs to move it each time there's a change of mayor is an expense that could be saved, and the matter has been debated at meetings of Ripon City Council.
One councillor countered a suggestion that the lamppost might be permanently sited in front of the town hall by pointing out that this one – the one in the picture – is already in place.

If it comes to a tussle between the two lamps for the right to illuminate the town hall, it looks as if this one might have the edge, not least because it features the wording 'The Right Worshipful The Mayor of Ripon' – and it's already fixed to the building.
