Ripon Together has launched a consultation designed to find out what people think about a blanket 20mph speed limit across the whole of the city.
The consultation lasts until Friday October 3 and the online survey is available by clicking here
David Ingham, who is a director of Ripon Together and a member of its environment group, said:
We understand that it could be easier than the existing mix of limits and could be implemented on every entry and exit road off the bypass and other roads into and out of Ripon.
There are only 12 places where changing speed limits signs would be required.
Mr Ingham, added::
We assume that some people will object, and we would like to know why and see what other suggestions they may have to make Ripon a better, cleaner place to live, learn, work and visit.
As the organisers we aren't taking a view, and we aren't proposing anything yet, we want to know what others think.
We intend to run the initial consultation up to Friday October 3 to allow us to announce the results before our annual Green Fair and then allow more discussions and surveys on the day..
The Ripon Together Green Fair will be held at Allhallowgate Church Hall on Saturday October 11 betwen 10am and 3pm,
Attendees will be able to see presentations and receive expert advice on a wide range of environmental issues.
