If there’s one person in your business who stands out as a constant driver of progress, innovation and change, we’d like to hear about them.
That’s because they could be a perfect candidate for the Dynamic Leader category in the forthcoming Stray Ferret Business Awards.
The award – one of 10 – is sponsored this year by Ogden of Harrogate, the James Street jeweller that has been a fixture of Harrogate’s commercial life for more than 130 years.
Director Ben Ogden, who is the fifth generation of his family to work in the business, said:
Dynamic leaders are vital in any business to generate confidence in what the team are doing and the direction they’re going.
If you don’t lead from the front – showing what can be done and how to do it – it's very difficult for your team to see where you want the business to go.
We’ll be looking for enthusiasm, passion, engagement and a good track record. That doesn’t necessarily mean they’ve made no mistakes, but a good leader will be able to learn from them.
The Stray Ferret Business Awards, which are once again sponsored by financial adviser Prosperis, recognise the brightest and best of the region’s business talent across all sectors.
They are open to entrants from across the Harrogate district, including Boroughbridge, Harrogate, Knaresborough, Masham, Nidderdale, Ripon and the surrounding areas.
To enter Dynamic Leader or any of the other categories, go to the Stray Ferret Business Awards page of our website here. It's quick, easy and free of charge. Entries close at noon on Wednesday, January 28.
The winners will be announced to 350 guests at a superb black-tie event in the Pavilions of Harrogate on March 26.
Mr Ogden added:
Winning an award doesn’t just inspire the team or company that the winner works for – it inspires the whole business community.
Too often we drag ourselves down by not celebrating our successes, but it’s important that we do to show people what can be achieved, and that it’s possible to get there.
And the awards are also a great opportunity to have a drink or two!
