Raworths is proud to support the Stray Ferret Christmas Appeal 2025 for the fantastic work of Henshaws. All money raised goes directly to this charity.
Please donate to our Christmas Appeal.
With your help, we are aiming to raise £5,000 for Knaresborough charity Henshaws. Any amount will be another step towards our goal.
Henshaws Arts and Crafts Centre desperately needs to expand so it can offer life-changing opportunities to more disabled adults in our community. The £5,000 we are hoping to donate will go directly towards two new creative workshops.

The gift of creativity cannot be underestimated for the people who attend the centre. Self-expression, discovering their talents and learning new skills are just the start of what arts and crafts can bring to their lives.
Making and creating things also offers a vital sense of purpose, and helps them grow in confidence. The centre itself is a welcoming and inspirational community where people can have fun, make friends and feel they belong.
Please watch this video to find out what the centre and the chance to be creative mean for people with sight loss and other disabilities, and please give whatever you can to help this amazing local charity expand its provision.
For the families of people with disabilities, the Arts and Crafts Centre can be transformational to their lives, too. Not only does it provide respite from caring responsibities, but it also offers a welcoming community where support, understanding and friendship can be found.
Amanda is a volunteer at the centre whose daughter Karina attends workshops. She told the Stray Ferret how Henshaws had made a huge difference to Karina’s life as well as to hers. She said:

Amanda and Karina, and James and Cameron.
And James Love, a patron of Henshaws whose son Cameron attends the centre, explained how his son and family would be 'lost' without Henshaws. He said:
The workshops are a lifeline to adults with special needs. There is very limited provision locally, particularly for young people with severe learning difficulties.
The opportunity to come together and experience activities to suit their interests and abilities is invaluable. We would be lost without this provision.
Our appeal ends on December 28, so please donate as soon as possible.
Thanks to generous sponsorship from Raworths Solicitors for our Christmas Appeal, every single penny you give will go directly to creating two new art workshops at the Arts and Crafts Centre, helping more local families experience the life-changing potential of creativity.
