Thomas the Baker will open a shop on Boroughbridge High Street on March 2.
The family-owned business will be housed in the former Cooplands bakery unit, which closed last year after what the company described as “an in-depth review of the business”.
Thomas the Baker today confirmed the opening date for the new store, which the Stray Ferret previously reported was due to open.
The shop, which will serve breads, pastries, cakes, will create at least five jobs.
Thomas the Baker was established in 1981 by a man called John Thomas. It will have 28 shops across the north of England including at Ripon and Knaresborough when the Boroughbridge site opens.
The new store at 33 High Street will add to the current number of bakeries in the market town, which includes Gilchrist’s and Havenhands.

To celebrate its new shop, Thomas the Baker is to give away 100 free gingerbread men for the first 100 children to visit.
