Three women have been charged with stealing more than £1,000 worth of makeup, cosmetics and perfume from shops in Harrogate.

Vanessa Bandyova, 20, Sandra Biharrova, 34 and Lucie Kotlarova, 33, appeared before Harrogate Magistrates Court this morning (November 13) where they spoke to confirm their names, ages and addresses.

Ms Bandyova, of Bentley Lane in Leeds, was charged jointly with Ms Kotlarova, of Darfield Street in Leeds, with allegedly stealing £350 worth of makeup from Space NK on Prospect Place.

She also faces a charge of taking £615 worth of cosmetics from Boots on Cambridge Street.

Both offences are alleged to have taken place on October 27.

Meanwhile, Ms Biharrova, of Bentley Lane in Leeds, faces a joint charge with Ms Kotlarova of stealing £147.90 worth of cosmetics from Rituals on James Street on October 27.

All three of the defendants are jointly charged with stealing perfume to the value of £500 from Hoopers on James Street on October 5.

Ms Biharrova also faces three separate theft charges, which include DVDs from HMV and rings from Rude Studios, in Leeds to a total value of £895.

Ms Bandyova also faces four theft charges in the city with a combined worth of £985, including handbags and razors from Asda and Sainsburys.

Magistrates adjourned the case until December 19 at Harrogate Magistrates Court to appoint a Czech interpreter.

All three defendants were bailed and ordered not to enter Harrogate town centre unless attending court.

Ms Bandyova and Ms Biharrova were also ordered not to enter Leeds city centre unless visiting their solicitor or a court hearing.
