Job advertisements will go out this week for a chief officer and deputy chief officer at Ripon City Council.
The council’s new human resources committee met for the first time yesterday (December 15) after weeks of in-fighting left vacancies unfilled.
Speaking after the meeting, committee chair, Councillor Andrew Williams, said the closing date for applications will be January 12 and interviews for the chief officer and deputy chief officer roles were due to take place on January 27 and 29 respectively.
Their salaries are expected to be £57,000 and £42,000.
Cllr Williams said he hoped the recruitment process would conclude at the end of January and whoever is appointed will be able to start work at the beginning of March, depending on notice periods.
“We had a calm meeting and are moving on from the pantomime season of recent weeks,” he added.
Cllr Williams said the council currently employed two administrative assistants and a part-time bookkeeper.
The two senior roles being advertised would bring it back to being fully staffed.
Adam Chugg has been operating as temporary chief officer / clerk without a deputy in recent months.
