Firefighters rescued a person and five dogs after a tree fell on a car yesterday (January 24).
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service’s incident log said Ripon and Harrogate crews were called to Ripon at 10.46am after a tree fell on a car.
The occupant was trapped inside the car, the log said, adding crews then made the vehicle safe and liaised with paramedics to assist the casualty and the dogs out of the car.
Firefighters removed the car doors using cutting equipment. The log added:
The incident was left with police and ambulance who transported the casualty to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The dogs were left with a responsible person.
North Yorkshire Police told the Stray Ferret officers attended the scene shortly after 10.40am to manage traffic.

Fire crews were called out to many other incidents yesterday.
At 10.22am, firefighters responded to reports of a tree that was smoking in Knaresborough. Yesterday’s incident log said the strong winds blew the tree into an electrical wire, which caused the smoke.
The incident was left in the hands of Northern Powergrid engineers.
At 1.05pm, firefighters were called to a property in Harrogate after a tree had fallen on the property. Firefighters believed the occupant was inside at the time but crews found them outside and uninjured on arrival.
Crews ensured the occupant was safe and well, gave advice and the incident was left with the homeowners, the log said.
Shortly after 5pm, firefighters were called to Masham after a tree trunk had deliberately been set alight.
The log said crews used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire, which had been started by a group of youths.
