Two people were arrested on Wednesday after a chase which ended when police officers deployed a stinger to force the suspects' car to a stop at Harewood.
Earlier in the day, North Yorkshire Police had received information from their counterparts in West Yorkshire about a set of stolen number plates that had been fitted to another vehicle that had been taken the previous night.
The stolen car was spotted entering North Yorkshire at Harewood. A short time later, a North Yorkshire Police officer spotted the vehicle, but it failed to stop.
The pursuit ended in Harewood.
In a statement, North Yorkshire Police said:
A pursuit began, with the vehicle heading towards Leeds, driving dangerously with numerous overtakes on bends and directly towards oncoming traffic.
The car was successfully stung in Harewood and bought to a stop shortly after.
With all four tyres deflated, the vehicle was boxed in by North Yorkshire Police and West Yorkshire Police units, and both the driver and passenger were detained at the scene.

A stinger, also known as a spike-strip, is a device lined with metal spikes that can be quickly extended across a road to puncture the types of an oncoming vehicle.
Both people in the stolen car were arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, driving whilst disqualified and no insurance, and aggravated burglary, and were taken into custody for questioning.
In its statement, North Yorkshire Police hailed the operation as "excellent work from our roads policing group colleagues and a great example of teamwork across our borders".
