Harrogate Town boss Simon Weaver has talked about his career highlights and lowlights ahead of his 700th league match in charge tomorrow (October 18).
Speaking to the Stray Ferret after the club’s fans' forum last night, Weaver recapped his first game in charge, the club's progress, and the players he’s loved and hated along the way.
He also revealed his favourite and least favourite games to manage, alongside his favourite opponents to “wind-up”.
Weaver, 47, joined Harrogate in May 2009; his tenure has lasted 16 years, four months and 23 days and counting.
He is by far the longest serving manager in the professional English game – Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola is second, with a comparatively measly nine years, three months and 14 days.
The Harrogate manager will take charge of his 700th league game away to Colchester at 3pm tomorrow.
