Harrogate Town boss Simon Weaver called for togetherness after his side extended their unbeaten run against Bromley today (February 21).

Although the match finished 0-0, Town suffocated the table toppers for 90 minutes and were unfortunate not to come away with a win.

Harrogate had 25 shots while Bromley, who are two points clear at the top of League Two, could only manage six.

The Sulphurites played with a confidence rarely seen at Wetherby Road this season. On several occasions, backheels, flick-ons and nutmegs were served to the spectators.

And the crowd responded in boisterous fashion. When a direct free-kick on the edge of the box was blocked successfully in the first half, the Exercise Stadium erupted with applause.

It was undoubtedly one of the best atmospheres at the ground since the start of the campaign.

Weaver acknowledged the fans’ role in Harrogate’s performances, calling for continued support as the relegation-threatened side enters the run in.

He said:

We stay up by staying together, first of all. That means everybody. The crowd play a huge role in that, and not getting on the backs of the players. They haven’t done in the last few games, they’ve responded to the energy on the pitch, and the players in kind have responded back. It’s got to be a team effort.
