A section of Waterside in Knaresborough that was sealed off after a landslip yesterday is expected to reopen today (February 9).
The pedestrian walkway Viaduct Terrace collapsed into the River Nidd during the afternoon.
The walkway, which is almost directly beneath the viaduct that carries trains between Harrogate and York, was cordoned off by police and trains were cancelled for several hours.

Knaresborough councillor Matt Walker provided updates to members of the public on his social media account last night and this morning. But there was no communication from any public bodies about the incident for 20 hours after it happened.
Finally, this afternoon, Melisa Burnham, North Yorkshire Council’s highways area manager, said:
We are investigating after the railings at the edge of the pedestrianised area under Knaresborough viaduct collapsed yesterday. We have made the area safe, and the area will remain closed until repairs can be carried out.
We closed a section of the road at Waterside yesterday as a precaution, and we expect to reopen it today following further assessments. We will update the public with more details when they are available.
