The offences occurred on Cambridge Street.

A woman has admitted to assaulting a police officer in Harrogate.

Holly Jones, of Regent Terrace in Harrogate, appeared at York Magistrates Court for trial yesterday (April 28).

Jones previously denied the offence, as well as one offence of using threatening or abusive words or behaviour, and a trial date was set for yesterday.

However, the defendant changed her plea and admitted the two offences.

According to court documents, Jones used threatening or abusive words or behaviour towards an unnamed person on Cambridge Street.

The incident, which happened on August 8 last year, was likely to have caused the person to believe immediate unlawful violence would be used against them.

On the same day, at the same place, the 31-year-old assaulted a named police officer by beating her.

The case was adjourned for a pre-sentence report to be prepared.

Jones will be sentenced at Harrogate Magistrates Court on May 25.
