A woman has appeared in court following a fatal collision in Nidderdale.
Mia Howarth, 21, appeared at Harrogate Magistrates Court yesterday (February 12) charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
She is alleged to have caused the death of 17-year-old Alfie Lovett by driving dangerously on Brimham Rocks Road on September 12, 2023.
The case was immediately transferred to York Crown Court, where Ms Howarth, who gave the court an address on Cooperative Street in Horbury, is due to appear on March 16.
North Yorkshire Police said at the time the crash occurred at around 6.50pm that evening.
Following his death, Alfie's family said he “lived his life fearlessly and marched to the beat of his own drum without caring about what anyone thought of him”.
