A woman has been arrested for two drink driving offences within the space of a month in Harrogate.
The woman recorded the highest breathalyser reading out of 151 people arrested in North Yorkshire for drink and drug driving during the festive December blitz.
North Yorkshire Police said in a statement the woman in her 40s, who has not been named, was first stopped by police on suspicion of drink driving on Wetherby Road at 5pm on Wednesday, December 4.
A breathalyser found she had 157 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath — over four times the legal limit. The legal limit is 35 micrograms.
After being released on conditional bail, the woman was then stopped again on Christmas Eve on Otley Road.
After failing a roadside breath test, she was arrested again.
In custody she blew 89 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath — over twice the limit.
Police said this was one of several case where children have been present in the vehicle when drink driving arrests have been made.
The woman is scheduled to appear at Harrogate Magistrates Court on Friday, January 31.
