Woman denies work fraud in Harrogate
A woman is to face trial accused of lying about her qualifications when applying for a job with an educational and support charity in Harrogate.
Katherine Waldron, aka Spain, appeared at York Crown Court today (June 5) when she pleaded not guilty to fraud.
It’s alleged that Ms Waldron, 33, dishonestly and intentionally made a false representation, namely claiming to have attained post-graduate teaching qualifications when applying for a job at the Harrogate Skills 4 Living Centre (HS4L) whose headquarters are on North Park Road.
The alleged offence is said to have occurred between July 2022 and May 2023.
Ms Waldron – formerly of Kings Road, Harrogate, but now of Frances Street, York – will now face trial starting on February 2 next year. It’s expected to last up to four days.
Recorder Dafydd Enoch KC released Ms Waldron on unconditional bail until that date.
