There's no denying that for many parenthood is not without its challenges.
Ripon-based occupational therapist Helen Buteux, founder of The EmpowerMum Method, is hosting a masterclass this Friday to help those who are expecting and mothers of babies, toddlers and preschoolers who feel overwhelmed or uncertain.

The masterclass titled Why Motherhood Feels So Hard and What No One Prepared You For will explore why early motherhood can feel mentally and emotionally demanding, what matters most in early development, and how maternal wellbeing and child development are closely connected.
Free, 12 noon-1pm, February 20, watch online via this link.

With shop stock excluded, the focus remains firmly on community, generosity and growing together.

Each February, the grounds of Goldsborough Hall quietly fill with snowdrops, drawing visitors into 12 acres of winter landscape in the heart of North Yorkshire.
More than 100 varieties – from familiar favourites such as G. Elwesii, to distinctive cultivars like G. Wendy’s Gold – are planted throughout the gardens, creating a delicate but striking winter display.
This Sunday, visitors can attend talks by the Head Gardener at 12pm and 2pm, browse and purchase plants from Summerfield Nurseries, York, and enjoy hot and cold drinks, sandwiches and scones served on the day. Dogs on leads are welcome.
