See the latest fashion trends on the catwalk

The Harrogate Celebration of Fashion is taking place this Saturday.

The annual event is organised by Harrogate BID and will showcase the town’s vibrant fashion and retail scene. 

Held in the Piazza outside the Victoria Shopping Centre in Harrogate, it will feature a series of catwalk shows highlighting various fashion categories, including wedding attire, activewear, prom dresses, race day outfits and summer selections.

In addition to the catwalk, participating retailers will offer pop-up experiences to engage shoppers and to promote their collections.

Free, from 10am, May 17, Piazza outside Victoria Shopping Centre, Station Parade, Harrogate, HG1 1AE.

Go on a wellness and spirituality retreat

The Rising Bird Wellness Festival, which promises to be a day of deep connection, healing and rejuvenation, is taking place this weekend at Lime Tree Farm in Ripon.

The transformative day retreat is set in the serene Yorkshire countryside and is designed to nurture the mind, body, and spirit. 

There will be a range of workshops to take part in, such as reiki and shamanic journey circles, guided meditations, sound healing, as well as stalls to shop at.

This year there will also be the opportunity to camp at the venue on the Friday night and the Saturday evening of the festival for an additional fee.

£50 for the festival ticket and £70 on the day, £30 per night for camping, 10am-9pm, May 17, Lime Tree Farm, Hutts Lane, Ripon, HG4 3DA.

Attend this community event

Knaresborough Community Festival is taking place this Sunday.

Organised by the community group Knaresborough Connectors and held at Henshaws Arts & Crafts Centre, the day will be jam-packed with entertainment, including a magic show, dancing, gifts and workshops, games, raffle prizes and live music.

Take part in a charity quiz for Saint Michael’s Hospice

Join The Empress for its charity quiz night to raise vital funds for Saint Michael's Hospice. 

Offering a fun-filled evening of trivia, friendly competition and community spirit, there will also be a raffle with some fantastic prizes up for grabs.

All proceeds will go towards supporting the incredible work of Saint Michael’s Hospice.

Have a fun family day out

Little Ouseburn, a picturesque village in North Yorkshire, is hosting its annual Open Gardens and Green Man Festival on Sunday. This free community event offers a delightful day out for all ages.

Explore a selection of 10 private gardens that showcase the creativity and horticultural passion of local residents, with each garden offering a unique experience, from traditional English designs to more contemporary layouts.

Meanwhile there will also be a range of attractions, including classic cars, plant sales, a tombola, and delicious lunches and teas. 

Kids will also love taking part in the Green Man mask trail and competition.
