The Harrogate and Ripon branch of CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) has launched an Ale Trail.

The 2024 Ale Trail has been set up in an effort to support local pubs and breweries during a difficult time for the hospitality sector.

The event runs from August 1-31 and there are 30 venues featured on the trail across Harrogate, Ripon and Knaresborough.

To take part in the event, participants can pick up a free Ale Trail passport from any of the venues featured.

One sticker can be collected per venue when purchasing a half or pint of real ale. Anyone who collects 10 or more stickers qualifies for the prize draw.

Prizes have been donated by the venues and include beer and food vouchers and branded clothing.

Guests qualify for the star prize if completing all 30 bars on the trail, as well as receiving a certificate.

The event is supported by Roosters, Daleside and Transdev.

One of the event organisers, Andrew Haddelsey, said:

We hope it encourages people to try venues they may have never considered before across Harrogate Ripon and Knaresborough, as well as discovering that our area hosts a diverse range of real ale pubs and breweries.
