A new coffee and matcha bar is opening in Harrogate next month.
Yassu, which is named after the Greek word for "hello", took to social media last month to announce the opening. It has taken over the Otley Road unit formerly occupied by IXP.
An official opening date is yet to be confirmed, but founder Konstantine Malousi revealed she is planning to open in early February.
Ms Malousi told the Stray Ferret she has more than 20 years experience in the hospitality sector. She founded Brio Café on John Street in 2016 and co-runs Gianni's Brio with her husband, Marco.
Yassu will offer a variety of coffees, matcha, soft drinks, sandwiches and sweet treats.
Ms Malousi, who is originally from Athens, added:
We are so proud to be bringing back our homemade gelato.
My drive and love for our gelato is what made me want to open Yassu to begin with. There were many sad faces when we stopped serving it at Brio, so I always knew that it had to come back at some point.
I had been wanting to open this concept for a while and the timing couldn’t be more perfect.
Yassu will offer both indoor and outdoor seating.
Ms Malousi said:
Yassu is part of something different and cool.
I don’t think that this concept exists in Harrogate, not to say even in the surrounding areas.
Yassu is set to open daily from 8am to 4pm.
