A well-known Ripon restaurant has come under new ownership.
Iain and Kirsty Wilkinson have taken over Storehouse Kitchen on the city’s North Street.
Mr Wilkinson worked as head chef at the venue before taking the reins.
In a social media post announcing the news, Mr and Mrs Wilkinson said they officially took ownership of the restaurant on Monday (November 3).
It added:
Iain has been head chef here for a while now, so you can expect more of the excellent food and standard of service you’ve been already experiencing - with a few exciting menu changes to come! Kirsty is new to Storehouse, but certainly not new to hospitality, with a wealth of hospitality, weddings and events experience to share with the team and put to good use.
Mr and Mrs Wilkinson, who have three children and recently moved to Ripon, told the Stray Ferret they hope to "inject our personalities and family spirit into the restaurant" to create a "fun, welcoming venue".
They said:
We have retained the core team members as they’re all fab! Lucy, our restaurant manager, has added great value to the business since starting in June.
John, our sous chef, joins us with great experience from Grantley Hall, and Danno has learned his craft at the Grantham Arms in Boroughbridge.
We’re really excited to take the restaurant to the next level.
New menus have been created as part of the change.
The daytime menu includes small and large plates, as well as hot and cold sandwiches.
The new evening menu boasts a variety of meat and fish dishes including chicken Milanese, roasted partridge crown, grilled swordfish and sea bass.
The couple said Storehouse is “really special to us” and hoped people will “come and see us soon”.
Mr and Mrs Wilkinson told the Stray Ferret they have not taken over Storehouse Bar and Eatery, Storehouse Kitchen’s sister site.
Charlotte Boyce, who founded both Storehouse sites alongside her husband Sean, told the Stray Ferret they are "pursuing other interests".
