Go on a hike

January is the perfect time to dig out the walking boots.

Not only is walking good for fitness, but being out in the great outdoors has a positive effect on overall wellbeing. And we are spoilt for choice when it comes to landscapes which to walk in.

There's plenty of options on the doorstep such as Crimple Valley or the Nidderdale Greenway walk. You can also go further afield in the Yorkshire Dales or visit a local garden.

And be sure to check out these four Yorkshire reservoir walks which we have just published, and these seven waterfall walks for inspiration aplenty.

Go to a relaxing class

Exhale Yoga Class in Ripon is holding a seven-chakra crystal singing bowls and reiki drumming class while floating in hammocks.

Aimed at rejuvenating the mind, body and spirit, attendees can immerse themselves in the soothing sounds of crystal singing bowls and the powerful vibrations of reiki drumming, all of which are designed to give healing and balance.

For those who prefer to be on the mat, there’s also a few non-floating tickets available.

£15 non-floating, £22 floating, January 19, 1.50pm-3pm, 3 Queen Street, Ripon, HG4 1EG.
