A collection of Leeds United memorabilia spanning nearly 80 years is set to go under the hammer in Harrogate.

The collection, which belongs to Leeds fan Pete Ward, will be auctioned at Morphets of Harrogate and online on Thursday (November 5).

The memorabilia includes two letters from legendary United manager, Don Revie, in answer to the seller’s schoolboy enquiry about attending trials at the club.

Around 1,500 Leeds United league, cup and European match programmes from 1960/61 to 2025/26 will also be up for auction. A handful of programmes from the 1940s and 50s will also be sold.

A programme from former United captain Billy Bremner's testimonial in 1974 and a programme from the 1940s.

    The auction will also include:

    • Around 75 matchday ticket stubs, including the 1965 FA Cup Final vs Liverpool, FA and League Cup semis and finals, UEFA and Champions League games
    • Upwards of 40 season ticket passbooks and cards from 1972/73, a mixture of tear-out raffle ticket-type passbooks and credit card style versions
    • 20 books/booklets, a dozen VHS and DVD copies of matches and compilations, a 45rpm record, lapel pin badges, and a large wood-framed mirror featuring engraved player mages from the David O’Leary Champions League years
    • Around 150 non-Leeds items from the 1950s/60s, including cup, international and miscellaneous British club programmes
    • Plus, a photograph from weekly Soccer Star Magazine, 18 August 1967, of the Wolverhampton Wanderers team and management, signed by around a dozen players.

    Mr Ward said:

Broken down into multiple lots, the sale presents an excellent opportunity for collectors of Leeds United memorabilia to acquire items that provide a fascinating insight into different periods of the club’s history.

The collectors’ sale will be held from 11am on November 5 at Morphets of Harrogate on Albert Street.

The sale will also take place online on the auctioneers’ website here.
