Revealed: Eight pubs that have requested to stay open later during the World Cup
The World Cup is only a day away now and some pubs are making arrangements for late openings.
Due to the relaxation of licensing hours for the Men's Football World Cup 2026, venues can apply for Temporary Event Notices to stay open later for games this summer.
Here’s a list of all the pubs in Harrogate and the surrounding area that have applied to stay open later:
Harrogate
The Alexandra, Prospect Crescent HG1 1LB, has requested to stay open until 5am from Friday, July 10 to Thursday, July 16 instead of 11pm.

Prince of Wales, 49 High Street HG2 7LQ, has requested an extension from midnight to 2am on Sunday, June 28, midnight to 4am on Friday, July 3 and 11.30pm to 5am on Sunday, July 5 and Monday, July 6.
The Woodlands Hotel, 110 Wetherby Road HG2 7AB, has requested to remain open until 1am instead of 11pm on Saturday, June 27 and Sunday, June 28.
The Mayfair Pub and Kitchen, 33-35 Parliament St HG1 2RE, has requested to stay open until midnight on Wednesday, June 17.
Ripon
The Black Swan, 21 Westgate HG4 2BQ, are requesting to stay open until 4am instead of midnight on Friday, July 3, and 5am instead of 1am on Monday, July 6.

The Black Bull, 6 Old Market Place HG4 1EQ, has requested to keep the lights on until 4am instead of midnight from Sunday, July 5 to Tuesday, July 7.
The Unicorn, 4 Market Place HG4 1BP, has requested to not close until 3am instead of 1am on Friday, July 3.
Knaresborough
Market Tavern, 12 Castlegate HG5 8AR, has requested to stay open until midnight instead of 11pm on Wednesday, June 17, and on Tuesday, June 23. They have also requested an extension on Sunday, June 28 so they can stay open until 2am instead of midnight. Finally, they have requested to stay open until 4am on Friday, July 3, instead of 1am and 5am instead of 1am on Monday, July 6.
