One of the most frequently closed roads in the Harrogate district is set for another lengthy spell of disruption.
Signs went up late last week warning that work will start on Dishforth Road tomorrow (January 12). It is the main road linking Ripon and Thirsk.
The sign says work will last until March 6, which is 53 days later.
For motorists heading from Ripon in the direction of Thirsk, a sign just beyond the Copt Hewick turnoff warns that work will start 'here'.
North Yorkshire Council’s live roadworks map indicated today (January 12) that mains replacement work was due to start today on Dishforth Road at Copt Hewick. However, it says the work is due to conclude on February 6.
Yorkshire Water undertook two months of rolling roadworks on Dishforth Road in April last year to replace 4.5km of water mains in the centre of Dishforth.
It followed 12 burst mains in the area over the last five years, which led to frequent road closures, often at short notice.
