Go to the Harrogate Food and Drink Festival
The Harrogate Food and Drink Festival returns to The Stray this weekend for its sixth annual celebration, bringing together a diverse programme of food, drink and entertainment.
This year’s event features live music, cookery demonstrations hosted by Stephanie Moon, family-friendly attractions and the debut of a fourth live stage.
Visitors can enjoy performances from tribute acts The UB40 Experience and The Soul Shebang, alongside magic shows, circus workshops and interactive activities in the new Sizzling Showdown Arena.

The festival brings together 18 independent street food vendors serving international cuisine, 10 bars offering a range of drinks, and more than 90 local traders and artisans in the Artisan Markets.

Cuore Chamber Orchestra will conclude its inaugural season with a grand finale concert at the Royal Hall on Saturday.
Under the direction of William Dutton, the programme opens with Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream overture, followed by his Violin Concerto in E minor, performed by internationally acclaimed violinist Jack Liebeck, who has longstanding connections to Harrogate.
The evening will end with Beethoven’s much-loved Symphony No. 7.
The concert follows the orchestra’s recent performance at St Wilfrid’s Church and brings together two of classical music’s most celebrated composers in a programme designed to mark the close of Cuore’s first season.

Masham Town Hall to host Scottish folk double bill
Masham Town Hall will host Scottish folk artists Heisk and Chloe Matharu on June 27 as part of the Scotland Introducing Festival, a touring initiative designed to showcase emerging traditional and folk talent from across Scotland.
Six-piece band Heisk are known for their energetic live performances, blending traditional Scottish tunes with contemporary influences, including funk and pop, using accordion, fiddle, electro harp, keyboards and percussion.
Joining them is a multi-award-winning Scottish Indian singer-songwriter and harpist Chloe Matharu, whose music draws inspiration from her experiences working as a navigational officer in the Merchant Navy and explores themes of the sea and natural world.

Harrogate International Festivals will host a wide-ranging programme of arts, music and events across the town this weekend, with activities taking place at several venues.
The Spiegeltent Family Festival returns to Crescent Gardens, featuring a packed schedule of theatre, science, circus, dance and interactive performances for children and families.
Elsewhere, the programme includes literature, comedy and spoken word events with guest speakers, writers and performers, alongside live music and entertainment.
Additional attractions include hands-on workshops, participatory sessions and a range of activities for all ages.

Watch the England World Cup game
Venues across the district are set to screen England’s World Cup match with Panama this Saturday night, as supporters prepare for a late-night 10pm kick-off.
A range of pubs such as Three’s A Crowd, along with Harrogate’s independent sports bar The Den, will show the match live on big screens, with several venues offering dedicated fan atmospheres, pre-match build-ups, drinks promotions and extended opening hours especially for the occasion.
Football fans are being encouraged to arrive early due to expected demand.
