Longstanding Harrogate business Daniel Footwear will close down at the end of March.
The Harrogate branch is one of four remaining stores nationwide, alongside two in London and one in Cheshire. All four are expected to cease trading within the next two months.
Staff were informed 10 days ago, and a closing-down sale began this week.
Last year, four Daniel Footwear stores closed in quick succession so this latest announcement has not come as a surprise.
The Harrogate store benefited from its location at the top of Parliament Street, due to the high volume of local and tourist footfall coming from Bettys and The Ivy.
However, since covid, footfall has heavily decreased and ever more people are buying shoes online.
As a result, Daniel Footwear will remain as an online-only retailer.
The closure is the latest blow for Parliament Street, which has seen several businesses leave in recent years. Just last month, Revolución de Cuba, further down the street on the same side, was forced to shut its doors.
