A road in Beckwithshaw looks set for a lengthy closure from today (November 7) due to roadworks.
The work will allow drainage systems on Shaw Lane to be repaired.
The road, which links Beckwithshow and North Rigton, is often used by motorists heading between Harrogate and Leeds as well as local drivers.
A sign erected by North Yorkshire Council says work will last for ’15 weekdays’.
It will begin at the junction of Shaw Lane, High Moor Road, Brackenthwaite Lane and Briscoe Ridge Lane.
The work will extend for almost a kilometre north, towards the junction of Shaw Lane and the B6161 Otley Road.
North Yorkshire Council’s official diversion route directs motorists on a 20-minute, 12-mile detour, through Leathley and Huby.

Briscoe Ridge Lane could be used to eliminate a lot of the diversion route to the south of the roadworks.
Council contractors are due to undertake the work, which should be completed by Friday, November 28.
